This week started out rough for Griffin. Father's Day morning we had an unhappy baby. It was too hot to wrap him in a heavy blanket (our air conditioning wasn't working) so at the end of the day, Eric wrapped him in a pillowcase (above) and things ended peacefully.
Griffin is still laughing at the ceiling. The top picture above is him laughing at nothing once again, and the other is when I caught him actually looking at me.
Since day one, baby has taken to being bounced on our exercise ball, and now that he's exploring more, he's finding little pockets to peek through.

We bought him a mobile for his crib, and he is rather mesmerized by it (for 20 minutes at a time). He'll laugh and kick around as it play music and turns.

Cute Sleeping baby.
On Wednesday, Griffin and I went to an infant play group, where Griffin took to their Bumbo seat. We had planned on getting him one later, but he sat in it for 10 minutes or so at the play group, so we decided to get him one a bit early. I still have to help him hold his head up here and there while he sits, but it seems to be good practice. The other babies range from 5 weeks to 4.5 months, and it was fun to see the babies "playing" together.  We plan to go to this group most weeks, so we'll get to know the neighbors (and their babies) a bit better.

Griffin also had a trial day at daycare this week. There was a very rare opening in the infant room at a nearby center, and it was a choice to either take the slot or wait a year or so for the next to open up. It is a bit earlier then we thought he'd be in, but it is a nice place so we wanted to seize the opportunity. That means I'll be back working tomorrow, and Griffin will be meeting new friends there too.
