This is Jaime posting this week because Eric is off house hunting in Baltimore. We had quite a busy week. It started with Griffin continuing to cry more than usual, so based on my research I began trying a few things (including restricting my diet) to see if it gives him a more pleasant demeanor.  I think it has helped, as the pictures above were captured of the nice quiet baby that we hadn't seen in awhile.
My best friend (for years upon years) Megan visited this week and took the family picture above before Eric left for B-more on Wednesday.  Note the skull on my shoulder; Eric's Nightmare Before Christmas coffee mug adds a lovely touch to the portrait.  Megan also caught me trying to finish off some art with one hand while the baby slept in the other.  I had to get a few things off to an art show this week, which proved nearly impossible.
With all the new "awake" time, (read: crying ) we were left trying to come up with a creative solution to get the little one to sleep. We were desperate enough to take a short stroller ride to the Right Start store down the street and invest in a Sleep Sheep (A stuffed sheep with an attached soundbox of soothing sounds) just in case.  Griffin first looked at the sound-making sheep somewhat puzzled, but eventually dosed off to the sound of rain. Coincidence or a Sleep Sheep panacea?  We didn't care which.
We also found this week that baby seems to fall asleep easier when propped up in more of a sitting position. Aunt Jenni (in the lower picture) holds Griffin seated upright with his head resting to the side. If she moved a centimeter he would wake up. So she held the spoiled child just so for some time.

Megan, Jenni, Griffin, and I actually ventured out to Urth Caffe on Melrose today to meet up with another high school friend.  We thought that going somewhere trendy in Los Angeles called for Griffin's new camouflage baby sunglasses.  They are still a bit big.

Griffin likes to stretch in general, and panic every time he is on the changing mat (above). I'm not sure which he is doing here, but I thought it looked like something of a super hero gesture. I think we were playing 80's music at the time, so he could just be jamming to REO Speedwagon or Air Supply.

All in all, it was a busy week. Today I had a list of 10 things I needed to accomplish, and yet this is the only one (blogging) that got finished.  Griffin is now sleeping right next to my laptop, appearing as if he is always this cute and accommodating. You can be certain that there is a stuffed sheep nearby singing whale songs just in case.
